Seventh Star Press Announces New Trilogy From Steven Shrewsbury

Seventh Star Press proudly announces A Story of Goliath, a brand new, epic-scale sword and sorcery trilogy from Steven Shrewsbury.  The trilogy gets underway with the first book, Philistine, to be released in early summer of 2013.

Set within the same world as Shrewsbury's increasingly popular Gorias La Gaul stories, A Story of Goliath takes place many centuries later and follows the adventures and exploits of the legendary biblical figure Goliath.  Readers of the trilogy can expect a gritty, hard-hitting take on the great warrior, set within a world rife with dark supernatural dangers, violence, lust, and all manner of elements both villainous and heroic that Shrewsbury's sword and sorcery tales are known to contain.

In Philistine, Goliath, rumored to be the offspring of a fallen angel, is a champion warrior of Philistia, a land with five great cities each ruled by a king.  Serving the Kings of Philistia, Goliath is pulled into a great conflict as a rogue general named Samien seeks to establish a new confederation, and throw off the yoke of older rulers and gods alike.

With his shield bearer, Abimelech, and a company of soldiers, Goliath sets out on missions for the five kings and encounters alchemists, the rising of ancient cities, bizarre creatures, cannibal wizards and dire dreams of death for his people.  The schemes of demons and humans intertwine, and Goliath discovers that humanity sometimes rivals the demonic horde in desire, greed and hate.

The trilogy will bring the team behind the Gorias La Gaul novel Overkill together again, as Joshua H. Leet will be handling editing duties, and award-winning artist Matthew Perry will be creating cover designs and interior illustrations for the novels.  A limited edition hardcover is planned, along with trade paperback and eBook versions.

Thrall limited edtion pre-order deadline this wednesday

Since it is Cyber Monday, we wanted to give a friendly reminder that pre-orders on Steven Shrewsbury's Thrall is this Wednesday. After Wednesday, if this version does not sell out, the price will rise significantly on any remaining packages.

Seventh Star Press is proud to announce the release of THRALL, the new heroic fantasy novel from author Steven L. Shrewsbury.

Now available for pre-order in limited edition hardcover and trade paperback, THRALL is the first published adventure of a brand new hero in fantasy literature, Gorias La Gaul.

Some of his recent, well-received works include the novels Tormentor (Lachesis Publishing), Hawg (Graveside Tales) and Stronger Than Death (Snuff Books). He also had a short story recently published in the anthology Harlan County Horrors (Apex Publications)

Amanda DeBord, editor-in-chief at Seventh Star Press, commented on the acquisition of Thrall: "I'm so excited to add Steven Shrewsbury to the Seventh Star label. Thrall will reunite Shrewsbury with editor Louise Bohmer, who worked with him on his novel Tormentor (Lachesis Publishing). Bohmer is also a familiar figure in the publishing world, with a host of editing credits spanning novels to short fiction and anthologies. The chemistry and previous history between the author and editor forecasts an outstanding first edition of the book.

The book will feature cover art and additional artwork from fantasy artist Matthew Perry, whose illustrations and cover art are featured in both The Rising Dawn Saga and the Fires in Eden series from author Stephen Zimmer (Seventh Star Press).

The projected release date for Thrall is for October/November of 2010. A special, short-run limited edition hardcover will be offered with a package of collectibles, with trade paperback, hardcover, Kindle, and eBook editions to follow.
